Olota To Attend Benin’s Ministerial Advocacy Day


The Beninoise Government has invited the the Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi AbdulKabir Obalanlege, to this year’s “Ministerial Advocacy Day”.

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday 7th of June, 2018 in Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

In a letter released and signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Republic of Benin, the delegation of Olota of Ota is to join other 12 African countries to respond to impending spread of Cassava viral diseases in Africa.

An event put together by the Government of Benin in partnership with the West African Virus Epidemiology (WAVE) and supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is expected to discuss the joint actions against the threat of Cassava viral diseases in Africa.

The trip will be the Olota’s first official international assignment since receiving His staff of office from His Excellency, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, the Governor of Ogun State on 10th of May, 2018.

"The outcome of the summit would serve as a key success driver for sustainable food security in Africa”, the letter read in part.

However, expected in the company of Olota of Ota is the Olota in Council, led by the Ajana of Ijana, Ota, Oba Clement Olusegun Akinyemi.
