PDP prepared to take over power from APC – Umahi

National vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the south east zone, Chief Austin Umahi, on Saturday, said his party was prepared and determined to dethrone the governing All Progressives congress, APC, in 2019 general elections.

Umahi stated that PDP has been repositioned to win all elective positions in the country.

He stated this in an interview with newsmen, shortly after meeting leaders, stakeholders and members of the Abia state working committee of PDP at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital.

“We are not only prepared, we are charged to take over the governance of this country. And Nigerians are yearning for PDP”, he said.

“So, we are prepared, dogged, determined and we are getting some wrongs we did in the past right, ensuring that as we reposition, we regain”.

“We want to discourage impunity and imposition and lack of internal democracy and get it right.

“And one good thing that is so amazing and attractive is that, PDP under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus is not mincing words to tell you the truth.

“And the constitution is backing him up, to devolve the power, down to the grassroots. That is exactly what we doing now”.

“That is why if you go to Wadata (PDP national office) now, you don’t see people there. They are in their communities trying to ensure that they create awareness for this great party. That is what we want”.
