Yacine Adli to snub Arsenal move, sign PSG deal

Yacine Adli is set to snub a move to Arsenal and sign a professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 17-year-old looked set to join the Gunners, after discussions with manager Unai Emery, but PSG made a last-ditch attempt to prevent their youth academy graduate from leaving.

ESPN reports that the three-year contract on offer from the Ligue 1 club on paper was better all along, but Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat was initially more convincing regarding future game time than Luis Fernandez, PSG’s transfer chief and youth academy sporting director.

Arsenal were tracking Adli as early as March, while Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were also keen.

Emery will now turn his attentions to sealing a deal for Fiorentina midfielder, Lucas Torreira.
