Adeleke rejects result of Ayedaade LG over alleged destruction of votes

Despite the conclusion of the announcement of election results from all the 30 local government areas, one of the agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Dele Adeleke, on Sunday at the INEC collation centre rejected the result of Ayedaade local government, citing alleged discrepancies in the figure of total votes recorded in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke, who is the junior brother to Senator Ademola Adeleke argued that there was a noticeable error in the adding up of the figures of total votes allotted to the APC in the region of about 1,000 votes.

Some of the PDP party leaders also alleged that one of the Electoral Officers (EOs) directed an official of INEC to tear the result sheet at Ayedaade local government in apparent bid to cover up the difference in the figures submitted at the collation centre, Osogbo and the one posted at the council after the counting of votes.

As of the time of filing this report, the final announcement of the actual winner of the gubernatorial election was being delay to get to the root of the matter.
