Kogi SDP leaders debunk alleged defection to APC

The leadership of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) has described as false the claims by the ruling party in Kogi State that some members of the SDP, PDP, ADC and ADP will decamp to the All Progressives Congress on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

In a statement signed by the Kogi State SDP Secretary Barrister Abraham Paul which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja, on Saturday night, the Secretary described the APC’s claim as misleading and false.

According to him, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, which has inaugurated both the state and local government executives recently, remains strong and firm with an agenda to take over the Lugard House comes2019 governorship election.

“We are firmly together. We have an agenda which is to take over Lugard House, the seat of government come 2019 governorship election in the state.

“This claim by the ruling party that SDP, PDP, ADC and ADP will decamp to APC tomorrow can best be described as false, deliberately arranged to deceive President Buhari or Adams Oshiomole to prove to them that the party is on ground.

“The claim is an imagination, the APC in Kogi State has since lost the support of the people because of their abysmal performance and nobody is joining the party in Kogi State because APC is the most unpopular party in the state,” he said.

While calling on SDP members to disregard the allegation, Barrister Paul disclosed that the screening exercise for its aspirants vying for various positions comes up on September 19th 2018.
