EPL: Chelsea ends Manchester City’s unbeaten start to season

Manchester City’s unbeaten start to the 2018/2019 Premier League season ended on Saturday, after they were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Pep Guardiola’s men came into the game needing to win, to reclaim their top spot from Liverpool, who had hammered Bournemouth 4-0 in the early kick off.

Although City dominated early proceedings, it was the home side who took the lead through N’Golo Kante. The France midfielder swept hom Eden Hazard’s cross just before the break.

The champions failed to get a foothold on the game after the break and it was Chelsea who scored again, with David Luiz heading in a corner.

City play Everton next, while Maurizio Sarri’s men travel to Brighton.
