Tottenham vs Ajax: Van Persie predicts Champions League semi-final tie

Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker, Robin van Persie, has backed Ajax to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League semi-final ties on April 30 and May 8.

Ajax reached the last four after beating Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League second leg encounter a few days ago, while Tottenham dumped Manchester City out of the competition.

Van Persie believes Ajax are favourites to reach this year’s Champions League final ahead of Tottenham because Spurs will play without their top striker, Harry Kane, who is currently sidelined due to injury.

“I did not see Ajax against Juventus because I was watching [Dutch comedian] Najib Amhali,” told Van Persie told Algemeen Dagblad.

“I saw Manchester City against Tottenham though and that was better than a great film.

“I think Ajax are favourites in the semi-final because Tottenham play without Harry Kane.”
