Chelsea legend, Mikel Obi finally reacts to racist abuse against him


Trabzonspor midfielder, John Mikel Obi, has finally responded to racist abuse aimed at him during his side’s 2-1 home victory over Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig last weakened.
Saga Gist recalls that the Chelsea legend was abused racially on social media following the game, which moved Trabzonspor into the third position above their opponents.
Reports in Turkey claimed abusive messages were sent to Mikel’s Instagram page, which included the use of the N-word and banana emojis.
Trabzonspor have since confirmed they have filed criminal complaints against the offenders.
Reacting to the development, the former Super Eagles captain, in a post on his official Instagram page, on Tuesday sad all humans are equal and the same
“We are all one and equal. It is just a game at the end of the day.#saynotoracism,” the 32-year-old tweeted.
Mikel has played 22 games in all competitions for Trabzonspor this season.
