COVID-19: Nigerian govt reveals how face masks, test kits from Jack Ma will be distributed


Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has confirmed that the federal government has received the medical supplies donated by Chinese business mogul and founder of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has since transported the shipment to Abuja, the country’s capital city.
In a statement on Thursday, Mohammed noted that the face masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be shared among front-line health workers.
The Minister also said the test kits will be shared among the five test laboratories in the country.
“Let me announce that we have received donated safety and test kits from the Jack Ma Foundation in China. The supplies are:
– 100,000 Face Masks
– 1,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
– 20,000 test kits
“The face masks and the PPE will be distributed to the front-line health workers while the test kits will be shared among the five test laboratories,” he said.
There are currently 51 confirmed cases in the country.
