A 20-year-old mechanic, Ibrahim Kolapo has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for stealing aluminium sheets.
In his ruling, Magistrate Isola Omisade sentenced the convict to 12 months imprisonment in Ilesa correctional centre.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo told the court that the convict committed the offence on August 23, 2020, around 11:20 am at Tinumola Area Oroki Estate in Osogbo.
Fagboyinbo said the convict unlawfully jumped through a fence and stole two milk coloured Aluminum flat sheets valued at two hundred and forty thousand N240,000, a property belonging to one Sola Bamidele
He said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 509 and 390(9) of the criminal code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2002.
The convict who had no legal representation pleaded guilty to the allegation preferred against him by the police.
He prayed the court to temper justice with mercy on him.
