PSG set to sign Messi after Neymar’s request

Paris Saint-Germain could be set to beat Manchester City to Lionel Messi’s signature, after Neymar asked the club to sign his former team-mate, Sky Sports reports.
Neymar and Messi played together at Barcelona from 2013 to 2017.
The Brazilian himself failed to seal a return to the Camp Nou last summer and now wants to team up with Messi in Ligue 1.
It is believed PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo, has already made contact with the Argentine’s representatives.
However, PSG is yet to make a formal offer for Messi, who is the highest-paid player in the world.
The 33-year-old is currently on £95m-a-year wages, with his fixed salary totalling £64m (€71m).
Leonardo wants to understand fully the clause that binds Messi to Barca and also what salary and length of contract he wants.
Abiding by Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules will also be a concern for both PSG and City, with both clubs having trouble with the UEFA regulations in the past.
