EPL: Arsenal confirms six players to miss West Ham match


Arsenal have confirmed that the likes of Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Gabriel Martinelli, Shkodran Mustafi, Emile Smith Rowe and Sokratis will all miss their Premier League opener clash against West Ham United on Saturday night.
According to a statement released via Arsenal’s official website on Friday, Chambers, Emile, Mustafi, Mari, Martinelli and Sokratis are all currently injured.
Arsenal head to the game following a 3-0 Premier League victory against Fulham last weekend.
The statement read: “Calum Chambers – Ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee against Chelsea on December 29. Aiming to be back in full training in October.
“Pablo Mari – Sustained significant sprain to ankle ligaments against Manchester City on June 17. Aiming to return to full training by the end of September.
“Gabriel Martinelli – Left knee. Sustained injury during training on June 21. Aiming to return to full training by the end of the calendar year.
“Shkodran Mustafi – Right hamstring sustained during FA Cup semi-final on July 18. Aiming to return to full training in October.
“Emile Smith Rowe – Sustained an injury to his right shoulder in training. Now out of protective sling and aiming to return to full training within the next two weeks.
“Sokratis – Right calf. Aiming to be back in full training next week.”
The kick-off time for the match is 8 pm at Emirates Stadium.
