Imo: Fear grips appointees as Governor demands reports of performance within 10 days


The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Thursday demanded that all the appointees of his government tender reports on their performance within a period of ten days.
The Governor made the demand during a meeting with the Commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants held at Exco chamber, Imo State Government House.
Saga Gist gathered that the Governor’s instruction was as a result of an alleged poor performance of some of the appointees since the inception of the government.
The appointees are by the Governor’s instruction expected to itemize their individual achievement within the duration they have held sway.
Further reports had it that some of the appointees whose performance is poor may be shown the way out and replaced with more vibrant ones.
Meanwhile, various government functionaries have doubled up their efforts within the shortest possible time in order to escape the Governor’s anger and retain their positions.
Our correspondent reports that some appointees have resorted to lobbying with the high and mighty in the government in order to retain their positions.
