Three persons have died in multiple road accidents in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State.
10 persons were reportedly injured in the crash caused by an articulated truck which rammed into some vehicles by the roadside of the town.
According to Tobi, an eyewitness, the truck suffered a brake failure at Ikare-Akoko while descending a hilly road around Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA.
The truck was said to have crushed other vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Omotola Ogungbawo said three persons died in the accident.
He disclosed that the accident involved a white Toyota Hiace bus marked BDG 731 XT, a blue Mercedes Benz towing truck and a blue DAF Trailer.
She added that 11 persons were injured in the accident maintaining that the injured victims were rushed to a General Hospital in Ikare while the dead were deposited at the General Hospital at Iwaro.
