PDP LGA Congresses: Sen. Misau, others did not abscond, left to avoid inducement – Niger PDP faction

Days after the conclusion of party congresses in Niger State Local Governments Areas, the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has taken a turn as various factions disagree on the conduct of the elections.
A group under the auspices of Niger State PDP card-carrying members led by Rt. Hon. Ndanusa Hassan on Tuesday lambasted a group led by Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu for allegedly accusing the Senator Hamman Misau led electoral team of absconding with the election results without explanations.
It would be recalled that members of the group led by Dr. Nuhu, a former deputy governor of the state at a press conference on Monday claimed that the Misau electoral team sneaked out of the state at 5am on Sunday without completing its assignment.
The Concerned PDP Members group alleged that the Electoral team left behind one of its members who had insisted that he would wait to collect all results.
But, Hon. Hassan while addressing Journalists in Minna explained that the Senator Hamman Misau led electoral team left the state to avoid inducement because their integrity was at stake.
“The Committee from the national body ran away because the Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu led group tried to induce them and they ran away. They refused their inducement. The Senator said, he can not be induced, that is why they ran away to Abuja”
“The concocted lies by Dr. Nuhu are the handiwork of the PDP’s National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Hussaini Maibasira who is bent on destroying the character of Committee members, National Working Committee (NWC), and our leader in the State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu”.
The leader of the Niger state PDP Card Carrying Members, who was a Speaker of the state House of Assembly noted that the action of the Dr. Nuhu group has shown that they have an ulterior motive against the party in the state.
“We want to make it categorically clear that Dr. Nuhu Zagbayi and his team have ulterior motives to destroy our party, and we will not fold our arms to watch him and Barrister Tanko Beji destroy PDP in Niger State.”
He expressed satisfaction at the conduct of the LGs elections by the Electoral Committee, noting that “elections were free, fair and transparently conducted in line with the party’s guidelines.”
Hassan also debunked claims as alleged by the Dr. Nuhu group that winners in the elections have already been sworn-in
