First half 2020: Lagos records one-third of N613bn IGR for FCT, 36 states

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Lagos State recorded the highest Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of N204.51billion in the first half of 2020.
NBS confirmed this in its Internally Generated Revenue at State Level (H1 2020) report released on its website on Tuesday.
The IGR figure of 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the first half was N612.87billion.
This means Lagos generated one-third of the total revenue, an affirmation that the State is Nigeria’s commercial hub.
The second state on the IGR list is Rivers with N64.59billion.
Jigawa recorded the least IGR with N3billion.
NBS computed states IGR data in collaboration with the Joint Tax Board from official records and submissions by the 36 State Boards of Internal Revenue.
“These submissions are then validated and authenticated by the Joint Tax Board which is chaired by the Federal Inland Revenue Service and has the NBS and the 36 State Boards of Internal Revenue as members”, it said.
In the first half of 2019, states and FCT generated N693.9billion IGR.
