Atiku reacts to outcome of Ghana presidential poll, calls for electoral reforms

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the outcome of the just concluded presidential election in Ghana.

According to him, the “smooth conduct” of elections in Ghana should serve as a lesson to Nigeria.

Saga Gist reported earlier that President Nana Akufo-Addo was re-elected after a tightly contested presidential election.

Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last election, tweeted a congratulatory message to Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Congratulations to President @NAkufoAddo on his reelection.

“The smooth conduct of the Ghana elections should be an eye-opener to our nation.”

Atiku said Nigeria must undertake far-reaching “electoral reforms that address the shortcomings of our previous experience and strengthens our electoral process.”
