There was panic in Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano on Wednesday as some heavily armed men stormed the council office, shooting sporadically.
The incident according to an eyewitness, happened at about 2am Wednesday, living residents scampering for safety.
The eyewitness narrated that as the gunmen continued shooting, the Police Division in the area responded by firing back at them but they were said to have been overpowered.
The gunmen set a police vehicle ablaze and went ahead to kidnap a businessman, Abdullahi Kalos.
“After they had disappeared, there was deployment from the state Police Command, but we are lucky that no life was lost apart from Abdullahi Kalos that they took away”.
The Kano Police Command Spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa did not pick several calls made to him to react on the matter.
