Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: Arteta gives update on Partey ahead of EPL clash

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has provided the latest update on midfielder, Thomas Partey, ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Thursday.

Partey missed Arsenal’s FA Cup 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday at Emirates.

The Ghanaian international has not featured for Arsenal since he suffered a recurrence of his thigh injury in December’s North London Premier League derby defeat to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on Partey after the Gunners’ win over Newcastle, Arteta expressed confidence that Partey revealed that Partey could be involved for Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace.

“We assessed the situation, how much training he’s done, the boxes that he ticked and he was still a little bit short,’ Arteta said at his post-match press conference.

“Hopefully, we will have him in the squad on Thursday [against Crystal Palace].

“Let us see how he trains in the next couple of days. He is really good at the moment.”
