Nigerians must talk - Gbajabiamila says after chat with Buhari

House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, says all Nigerians must embrace dialogue to resolve the lingering controversies.

Gbajabiamila spoke to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

The Surulere representative warned against divisions along ethnic or regional divides.

“Everybody just has to come to the table and discuss and come to an amicable resolution. We all have to sit and look for the way forward.

”I don’t think any ethnic group should lord it over any ethnic group. The South-West should not lord it over the North, the North should not lord it over the South.”

The Speaker said citizens should respect each other’s trade, geographical space, history, religion and culture.

Gbajabiamila disclosed that the National Assembly will deliberate burning national issues.

”We are about to start work on Tuesday. I know these issues will come up and adequate legislation that will address them frontally will be put in place,” he assured.
