EPL: Solskjaer reacts as Barcelona open talks to sign Haaland

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reacted to speculations linking the club to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland after Barcelona opened talks to sign the striker.

Top European sides such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona are said to have shown strong interests in the 20-year-old.

But Barcelona now appear to be at the front of the queue to secure the player’s services after his father and his agent were spotted at the club yesterday.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Solskjaer was asked about the La Liga giants pursuit of the striker and whether the Norwegian youngster is a player United can afford to miss out on.

The Manchester United gaffer said, “I’m focussing on the next two months.

“There’s only so many places that a player can go to and for us, we want to focus on the ones who are here.

“I’ve worked with Erling, but it’s not right for me to talk about him. I can talk about him as an ex-coach of his but he will make his own mind up.

‘I think the way the world works at the moment, you’d like to do all your business on the quiet and all your talks on the quiet.

“Who we’re interested in and who we can go for and who we will go for, I’m not going to comment on that.”
