The paramount ruler, Atyap chiefdom, Agwaatyap, Dominic Gambo Yahaya has pleaded with his subjects to forget the past and live happily with one another.
His call followed his worries over the frequent crisis in his domain and the need for indigenes to live peacefully among themselves, especially the Fulanis and natives.
A statement issued by the Monarch, on Tuesday, recalled that, since the past two weeks, several villages within his jurisdiction have suffered untold crises leading to the loss of lives and properties.
He pleaded with his subjects to cease fire and be law-abiding saying that, his palace is open to receive complaints and settle all manner of grievances.
While he urged them to always report, any grievances for a peaceful settlement, the monarch told his subjects that he welcomes good suggestions, on how to end the carnage in his domain
His words: “these attacks led to the loss of many lives and properties in my Chiefdom with many of the people languishing in Internally Displaced Camps(IDPs).
“This is most unfortunate and very painful to me despite our collective sacrifices and peace Initiative I personally brokered.”
He commended the Atyap Chiefdom Peace and Security Partnership Committee, Atyap Chiefdom Council members and elders, military, paramilitary agencies, District Heads, Village Heads and the youth for toeing the part of peace and working tirelessly to ensure that the situation did not get worse.
The Monarch urged them to sustain the peace efforts in his domain.
The monarch who congratulated the Muslim Ummah in his chiefdom on the celebration of Eid El Kabir festival, also, called on his subjects to restrain from hostilities and remain calm to allow peace to reign.
He also called on the Kaduna State Government, the tiers of Government to strengthen the security apparatus in his chiefdom and support the displaced people by rehabilitating their burnt houses and other losses.
