Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State has cut short his trip to sympathize with victims of the Jalingo flood disaster.
Ishaku was said to have shelved his trip to Abuja and Kaduna States where he is rumoured to be planning the wedding of his son slated for next Saturday.
The governor, it would be recalled left the state a day before the flood that led to massive destructions of valuable in Jalingo, the administrative headquarters of Taraba State.
Ishaku on arrival reportedly went straight to the flood sites to sympathized with residents and displaced victims.
Visibly shaken by the sight of the flood which as at the time of filing this report has continued to increase following the rains, Ishaku promised not to leave any stoned unturned in spreading smiles on the faces of the victims.
The governor promised to provide relief materials, food and shelter for affected victims.
He pledged that his administration will immediately engage the services of a team of engineers to assess all the bridges destroyed by the flood.
While urging those living around flood planes to relocate Governor Ishaku said he would expand the available resource at his disposal to make life more meaningful to the victims.
Many locations and homes within the Jalingo metropolis were affected by the flood.
