2700 delegates to participate in Niger PDP Congress

 

A total of 2,700 delegates are expected to participate in the Saturday State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Minna, Niger State capital.

The Chairman Local Organizing Committee, LOC, for the conduct of the Congress, Hon. Hamidu Kadi kuta, made the disclosure while speaking to journalists on the preparedness of the party for the conduct of the congress.

kuta explained that preparations have been concluded to ensure successful Congress of the party in the State.

The LOC chairman revealed that a total of 2,700, including special delegates across the 25 local government councils, are expected to take part in the state congress tomorrow.

The Chairman stated, “all sub committees have been funded and have already moved into action for the conduct of the state Congress. All delegates are expected to arrive Minna for the state Congress a day to the election for accreditation.

“All delegates from the twenty five local government areas are expected to remain in their hotels until they are called upon to come to the venue to cast their vote. This decision was taken in order to avoid crises during and after the election.”

He, however, urged the delegates to maintain orderliness during the congress, even as security agencies will be stationed at the venue to provide adequate security.

Furthermore, Kuta revealed that all the offices, including that of the state Chairman of the Party shall be contested, while pledging a free and fair election.
