DSS concedes to bail of eight Sunday Igboho aides

Contrary to earlier fears, the Department of State Services, DSS, has told a Federal High Court in Abuja that it has no objections to the bail of eight out of 12 detained aides of Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba separatist also known as Sunday Igboho.

The security agency, however, objected vehemently to the bail of four others including a female suspect.

Counsel to the detained suspects, Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi, had asked Justice Obiora Egwuatu to admit the suspects to bail on the ground that they have spent over a month in the custody of the DSS.

However, in reaction to the bail application, DSS lawyer, Idowu Awo, announced that it has no objections to the bail of the suspects.

He claimed that the DSS is still investigating them on their complicity in the arms stockpiling in the house of their principal, Sunday Igboho

The DSS lawyer listed ammunition allegedly found in the house of Igboho, adding that investigation so far linked them to the alleged offence.
