Im enjoying massive support, cant fail Bauchi people - Gov Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has solicited the continuous support of the people of the State for his administration, even as he assured that he will rule the State with the fear of God.

Governor Mohammed made the appeal at the Cultural Day and turbaning of his daughter, Dr Hauwa Bala Mohammed, as the first Sarauniyar Bauchi held at the Conference Hall, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Camp, Bauchi, on Monday.

The Governor assured the people of the state that his administration would continue to do its best not only to take Bauchi State to the promised land but for the maintenance of peace and security for the rapid development of the state.

Mohammed thanked Allah for giving him the opportunity to serve the state, having previously served at the federal level.

“We thank our leaders at all levels in the state and at the federation and of course our friends and all our associates. We thank Allah Subaha Wa Taala for giving us the opportunity to serve in Bauchi after serving in various capacities at the federal level,” the governor said.

He declared that the occasion was not meant for politicking, adding that it was very solemn and auspicious for him to show his gratitude for the kind of tumultuous support and appreciation shown to him by all well wishers across the country, including people of the state.

“So many people have contributed positively to this occasion by donations and giving contributions to me even though they know I am the governor and Allah has blessed me in all respect. They brought their chicken, they brought cash, they brought rams, they brought cows and some brought clothes and so on and so forth.

“Today what we have been given is so enormous that I used to wonder whether I really need all these but certainly the fact that I have been given all these gifts is an attestation of goodwill and I will not take it for granted.

“I deeply appreciate on behalf of myself, the bride and the bride groom and my extended family and all well wishers,” he said.

Mohammed then assured that the love shown him by the people would encourage him to continue to serve them with the fear of God.

“We have done so much over the period but certainly this kind of love and support that has been shown to us, especially by our elders chaired by Jarman Bauchi is an attestation that we need to continue to associate and make sure that all differences are collapsed,” he stated.

Saga Gist reports that dignitaries present at the occasion, included wives of the governors of Kebbi, Adamawa and Gombe states, Aishatu Atiku Bagudu, Lami Ahmed Fintiri and Asmau Inuwa Yahaya, among others.
