Messi to open up on exit, next club in final Barcelona press conference

Lionel Messi is scheduled to give a press conference at Camp Nou on Sunday, following his exit from Barcelona, Goal reports.

The LaLiga side have failed to register Messi due to financial restrictions.

But amid intense speculation, he will now address a press conference this weekend, where he will be expected to clear up questions about his future.

Messi is likely to shed light on his departure and his possible destination.

However, there are suggestions that his choice of the Nou Camp for the event, might mean his departure is not a done deal.

Messi was prepared to put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with Barca earlier this month, having accepted a 50% wage reduction.

But when news broke on Thursday that the club would still be unable to register him, it appeared that he was destined to finish his career elsewhere, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City both heavily linked.

Conversely, his conference could be to offer him a final chance to say farewell to the club where he has spent his entire professional career to date, having joined as a youngster and helped forge their success over the better part of two decades.
