The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone XI Command, Osogbo, comprising Oyo State and Osun State commands, AIG Mukan Joseph Gobum, has enjoined Christians to hand over command to God and also to pray for peace, progress and divine security for Nigeria.
The Zone XI police boss made this known on Wednesday during the Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria at All Saints Protestant Chapel, Zone XI Command Headquarters, Osogbo.
Addressing the congregation from the Psalms 127:1 which reads: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that builds it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchmen waketh [but] in vain”, AIG Gobum advised that in order not to work in vain, there was need to pray to God to come and crown people’s efforts so that Zone XI will continue to be the most peaceful in the whole country.
He also advised officers and men of the command to shun evil and embrace righteousness adding that everyone will give account of their stewardship in this world and in life thereafter.
While delivering his sermon from the book of Romans 8:19, The Area Superintendent, The Apostolic Church, Osogbo Area, Pastor I. G. Awotanmi called on officers to pray for grace to stand out among their mates because the whole creation is earnestly waiting for the manifestations of the sons of God.
The Police Chaplain, Ven. Elijah Olawuyi, also offered prayers for the peace of the nation and the government and the people of Oyo and Osun states.
