Police, Niger vigilantes wipe out bandit leader, Jauro Daji, gang members

 

The anti-kidnapping team of the Nigeria Police Force and vigilantes in Niger State have eliminated a wanted bandit leader, Jauro Daji.

A number of Daji’s men also died in an operation carried out along the Kontagora axis of Niger. Weapons and ten motorcycles were recovered.

The police acted on intelligence and ambushed the bandits as they tried to cross a stream ahead of a kidnap mission at an isolated community.

An officer told PRNigeria that Daji and his gang have been involved in attacks on villages and schools using bikes.

“The operation was successfully executed on Monday between Gulbin Boka to Dogon Fadama area under Kontagora Local Government Area”, the source said.

Local divers have been engaged to find weapons the bandits who escaped threw into the river.

On Sunday, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha jet eliminated bandits at a school at Gidan Rijiya village in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The air strikes targeted areas around Zangon Dammaka and Jajaye, killing bandit leader Kachalla Haru and his foot soldiers.
