I left global legacy in Nigerian Immigration Service - Ex-NIS boss, Babandede

 

Former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, (NIS) Muhammad Babandede has said his greatest legacy to the world is the Migration Information Data Analysis System (MIDAS).

Speaking to newsmen during the grand reception in his honour at Ringim Emirate council, he said MIDAS is a global best management system which enhanced global security.

According to him “The greatest legacy I cherish in Nigeria Immigration service is called MIDAS, Migration Information Data Analysis System, I am glad to see under my leadership that Nigeria has largest, most flexible, most effective MIDAS system in the world.

“We have successfully effected that in all our air boarders. We have put some additional ones in land boarders

“Nigerian has also secured approval from International organization for Migration to open MIDAS center of excellence in Immigration headquarters, Abuja, which I allocated the place before I retired..

“This legacy is not only to stay in Nigeria, it will be a global legacy as a system for boarder’s crossing in the world and it will continue to contribute not only in Nigerian Security but global security.”

He, however, appreciate the cooperation, love, affection and mutual understandings rendered to him by the NIS staff and other sister agencies.

“For one to excel in life, one is expected to work well, manage the people well.

” I, therefore, urge my fellow men in the services of Immigration services to be dedicated, punctual to duty and above all be God fearing, honest, and transparent in all your undertakings,” he advised.
