Man, 64 arrested for defiling two-year-old girl in Ogun

 

A 64-year-old man, Ayotunde Taiwo, is currently cooling his heels in police cell for allegedly defiling a two-year-old girl at Agbado area of Ogun State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen on Tuesday, the state police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was nabbed after a complaint was lodged at Agbado police station by the victim’s mother.

According to Oyeyemi, the mother of the girl had reported that at about 11am on Tuesday that she observed that her daughter could not walk properly as she used to.

Inspecting her body, Oyeyemi quoted the woman as saying she noticed blood was gushing out of her private part.

He said, “When she asked her daughter about what happened to her, the little girl pointed to the house opposite their own house.

“On getting to the house, the suspect was found washing his blood-stained boxer, indicating that he just had unlawful carnal knowledge of the little girl.”

Consequently, the DPO of Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, reportedly detailed his men to the scene, where the 64-year-old suspect was apprehended.

While informing that defiled minor had been taken to hospital for treatment, Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Edward Ajogun, had directed that the case be transferred to the Family Support Unit at Ota Area Command for further investigation and prosecution.
