N20bn: Yahaya Bello, a man of integrity - Fani-Kayode on freezing of Kogi accounts

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has described the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello as a man of integrity and profound decency.

Fani-Kayode, who was reacting to a court ruling that froze the state’s account, insisted that Bello cannot fix N20 billion in a fixed account.

He maintained that such claims against the governor were false.

In a series of tweets, the former minister wrote: “Those that believe that Yahaya would fix 20 billion Naira of public funds in a fixed deposit account do not know him.

“He is a man of profound decency & integrity. I am sorry for those that are peddling this falsehood. I advise them to try something else: this one has failed!

“I have faith and confidence in my friend and brother Gov. Yahaya Bello. He NEVER paid 20 billion in a fixed deposit account.

“Those that are peddling these specious lies & slanderous falsehood are agents of satan from the pit of hell. Their attempt to discredit and destroy him has FAILED!”

A Lagos Federal High Court on Tuesday had ordered the freezing of the salary account of Kogi State Government over a N20 billion loan obtained from Sterling Bank.

Delivering the order, Justice Tijjani Ringim said the order would remain in force pending the conclusion of an investigation or possible prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
