Two persons have been confirmed dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries in a fatal motor accident in S/Tankarkar local Government, Jigawa State.
The accident happened on Monday at Tashar Bala Village along Gumel Babura Road, involving one motor vehicle Golf Wagon Green in colour, with registration Number KBR 130 AE driven by a 50-year-old man Haruna Dankasim of Dasure Village, Roni LGA.
A resident said that the driver, who was coming from Hadejia, heading to Dasure, lost control and ran into the bush due to heavy downpour.
He said as a result, the vehicle somersaulted and all the occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries.
Police Spokesman, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
He said the driver and three passengers were rushed to the Babura General Hospital where the driver and one passenger were confirmed dead.
The other two passengers were referred to Kazaure General hospital for treatment.
“The driver one Haruna Dankasim and a passenger Lawan Dantandi both of Dansure village were confirmed dead by the medical doctor, while Ali Banba and Bashir Adamu were referred to Kazaure General hospital for further treatment,” he said.
He said the case was still under investigation.
