Yobe: How Damaturu is taking measures to control cholera - LG chair

 

Damaturu Local Government Council, Yobe State, said it has taken stringent measures aimed at controlling outbreak of diseases in the area.

The Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Bukar Adamu, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Damaturu.

According to him, the measures taken by the local government council include house to house enlightenment on the dangers of the outbreak of diseases and fumigating drainages.

He said other measures include: a meeting with all stakeholders, community and religious leaders aimed at achieving a clean and tidy environment.

Adamu said the council has also procured and distributed drugs to all primary healthcare facilities across the local government area to improve the health status of the people.

The chairman commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for the prompt intervention of his administration towards the healthcare services in the state.

He expressed appreciation to the entire health workers in the local government area for their courage and dedication in the discharge of their duties.

Alhaji Bukar Adamu called on people to continue to complement the effort of the government in the development and progress of the health sector.
