As Nigeria marks its 61st Independence Anniversary from colonial era, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda has warned would be trouble makers to desist from any act capable of disrupting the existing peace the State is enjoying.
Dauda gave the warning on Friday in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP William Ovye Aya.
The CP called on citizens to go about their lawful activities and report any suspicious movement or objects to the nearest security agents to enable prompt response.
While assuring the people of Kogi State of maximum security during the celebration, CP Dauda further enjoined Kogites to continue to cooperate with the police and other security agencies in fighting crimes and criminality in the State.
The CP stated that the Command, in synergy with all the Security agencies in the State, has adopted adequate security measures to protect Kogites, and ensure a crime free anniversary and beyond.
The statement reads further, “the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical and Operational Commanders have been mandated to ensure high visibility and confidence boosting patrols around the major highways and other places of public resort to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements”.
