Former Arsenal player, Paul Merson, has predicted some of the English Premier League, EPL, games that will be played this weekend.
Leicester City will host Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, while Chelsea will face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur in an away Premier League tie on Saturday evening and Liverpool will host Brighton.
Providing his predictions, Merson told Sportskeeda, “Arsenal seem to have learnt a thing or two about earning results in difficult games, and a point here would be a good outcome for the Gunners. Leicester City 1, 1 Arsenal.”
On the Liverpool vs Brighton game, Merson said, “I honestly can’t see Liverpool losing this game at the moment, and I’m going to go with another victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men. Liverpool 3, 1 Brighton.”
Commenting on the Newcastle vs Chelsea tie, Merson said, “Chelsea have rested most of their players this week. They made loads of changes in the Carabao Cup, and I don’t think they can be stopped this weekend. Newcastle United are an absolute disaster at the moment, and I don’t see anything but a Chelsea win here. Chelsea 3, Newcastle 0.”
Speaking on the Tottenham vs Man United game, Merson said, “Manchester United are going to win this game, and it’ll paper over the cracks yet again. They did manage a victory against Atalanta in the Champions League, and I think they will pull off something similar this weekend. Tottenham Hotspur 1, 2 Manchester United.”
