A bad result against the Serie A side will only set the alarm bells ringing, as the Red Devils face Liverpool next in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s are another free-scoring side and it will take an almighty performance for United to take all three points against them.
If that indeed happens, Solskjaer will likely not be United’s manager by the time they return to the Champions League to face Atalanta again.
The 48-year-old will be hoping he can pull off one of those his dodgy results against either Atalanta at home or Liverpool this weekend, to keep him in a job for much longer.
