Kaduna: Commissioner calls for support from residents

 

The Commissioner, Kafanchan Municipal Authority, Mrs Phoebe Sukai Yayi on Wednesday called for collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the community for it to succeed

Saga Gist recalls that the Kaduna State government had a few weeks ago, appointed Commissioners to oversee the three Senatorial districts of the state.

Mrs Phoebe Sukai Yayi, the Commissioner for Kafanchan municipal authority during a familiarization tour of her area on Wednesday, noted that it is only when there is cooperation, collaborative efforts of all, within and outside the community that there could be meaningful development.

Speaking during her first visit to the Palace of the Paramount traditional rulers in Kaura Local Government area, she said the Kafanchan Municipal Authority will pay adequate attention to the construction of roads, modern markets, Motor parks, hospitals and schools and also look into the possibility of developing tourists sites among other things.

According to her, the Authority would also explore possible sources of revenue generation to boost the financial status of the state which will in turn, enhance development.

The Commissioner appealed for support and cooperation from the traditional rulers of the area to guarantee success.

Responding separately in their palaces, the Chief of Moro’a, Mallam Tagwai Sambo who spoke through the Magajin Garin Moro’a, Mr Danladi Nache called for the development of the Kajim river to serve as a tourists site.

While appreciating the government for the numerous projects in the chiefdom he appealed for the completion of abandoned ones.

On his part, the Agwam Takad Mr Tobias Nkom Wada stressed that clay was available in large quantity in the chiefdom and called on the government to woo investors to avail themselves of the opportunity and establish ceramic industries.
