Three former Niger State All Progressives Congress, APC, executives have filed a suit against their colleagues to the Chief Magistrate Court Bosso over purported conspiracy and defamation of character.
Three persons in a joint suit include the state’s former APC Chairman, Jibrin Imam, Secretary Barrister Muhammed Liman and Treasurer, Doctor Shaffi’i Abdulsalam.
They accused the former party executives for conspiring and maliciously publishing and granting interviews alleging that they misappropriated the state’s party funds.
The trio prayed the court to take into cognizance the offences contrary to section 97 and 392 of the Penal Code Law and tried the accused persons accordingly.
However, the counsel to the defendants, Barrister Bukani, raised preliminary objections that his clients were not in court because they were not directly served with court summons.
The counsel to the complainants, Barrister Leri, told the court that the presence of the accused persons was necessary considering the criminal case against them.
However, the Chief Magistrate Court, Ibrahim Shaba adjourned for tomorrow for further hearing.
