The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant A A Sparks, has charged private guard companies to collaborate effectively with other security agencies in the area of intelligence gathering to stamp out crime in the state.
The commandant disclosed this during the passing out parade ceremony of the Course ‘E’ trainees of about 15 Private Guards Companies (PGCs) that underwent induction training at the state headquarters of the NSCDC.
The commandant admonished them to hold onto every training acquired during the induction, commending the resilience of the companies in ensuring that criminals are put on constant check.
“The corps is saddled with the statutory responsibilities of monitoring, supervising and training of Private guard companies from time to time, as such, this forms one of the core mandates of the corps”, he said.
The passing out parade ceremony was witnessed by the state Chairman of Private Guard Companies Alh. Lawal Abdullahi Makama, representatives of the participating Private Guard Companies and officers and men of the corps.
The State Commandant extolled the ruggedness of the trainees and their performance in just less than a week of training, he then urged them to put all skills acquired into practice.
Responding, the Chairman of PGC in Zamfara State who is also the Managing Director of Delaw Security Guards, Makama thanked the State Commandant and the management of NSCDC for the opportunity given to them to participate in the training.
He reiterated the commitment of PGCs in combatting crime in the state also promising to synergize with the corps in the area of intelligence gathering.
