The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has signed the 2022 appropriation bill into law, with a promise to fully allow Legislative Financial Independence.
Ganduje, who signed the bill into baw, Tuesday at Government House, amid the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Engr. Hamisu Chidari and others said the bill will commence usage from the first day of January 2022.
Speaking at the signing ceremony which took place at the Government House in Kano on Wednesday, Ganduje stated that the budget is meant to complete all major projects put in place in the state by the administration as they approach transition.
He added that the N221,235,185,147:00 is to complete all the major projects to ensure that he leaves no liabilities behind adding that the capital projects have the highest percentage.
Ganduje further praised the State House of Assembly for fulfilling its promise within the stipulated period of time and for being the most cordial state Assembly to a state government in the entire country.
“I praise the State Assembly for fulfilling its promise and making it possible for us to sign this budget appropriation bill into law.
“This budget of N221,235,185,147:00 is meant to complete all the major projects of the state government as we approach transition.
“I want to assure you that the implementation of this budget will be followed religiously even as capital projects are given priority and have higher percentages,” Governor Ganduje stated.
