Police rescue kidnapped victims, arrest two cattle rustlers in Kogi


 

The Kogi State Police Command has rescued two kidnapped victims from the hands of their abductors.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) in the state DSP William Ovye Aya disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Aya said the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, attached to Ajaokuta Division while acting on a tip-off gathered that some armed hoodlums blocked the express road between NEPA and ASCOL bump inward Itobe shooting sporadically to scare motorists in order to carry out their nefarious crime.

He said the operatives promptly swung into action, raced to the scene and engaged the hoodlums while they all escaped to the bush.

“And in the process, the Police rescued two victims unhurt. Efforts are on for possible apprehension of the hoodlums” he added.

He equally added that operatives attached to the Enjema Division in the Eastern part of Kogi State arrested the duo of Mohammed Alhaji and Amadu SULE Juji who specializes in rustling cattle within Enjema and environs.

This he said is sequel to the complaint of missing 15 cows from Fulani Camp at Okobo.

Aya explained further that, the Police promptly swung into action through intelligence-led operations and arrested the suspects at Ogboji in Ankpa Area and recovered 14 Cows.

The suspects he said will be arraigned in court at the completion of the investigation.
