Zamfara: Police deploy tactical teams to Kaura Namoda, Moriki, Shinkafi

Zamfara State Police Command said it has deployed a police tactical team to Kaura Namoda-Moriki and Shinkafi road to put the insecurity situation ravaging the axis under control.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkanah, admitting that for some days now, bandits have been taking advantage of some locations of the road to be attacking commuters, saying that the command in collaboration with the other security agencies has deployed enough security personnel along the road.

“As for now, the road is free for movement because we have deployed seven operational vehicles working from morning until evening,” Elkanah said.

The commissioner , however, refuted the claim making rounds in the state that Shinkafi-Kaura Namoda road is under siege, pointing out that he has deployed eight tactical teams to control the situation, saying that there is also the presence of the military operatives along the road.

The police boss added that, “There is no doubt that if you go to the locations of the road, you will see commuters plying the road because security is now there.”

He assured that the axis would be secured with the presence of security operatives in the area, saying that even the military operatives have been deployed to the area.

The commissioner, however, appealed to the residents of the area to be calm as the security operatives are on top of the issue, pleading that they should not run away from their origin.

Saga Gist reports that the axis has been the enclave of bandits in the state after they shifted from Dansadau axis where they operate from.

It was learnt that Kaura Namoda, Moriki, Shinkafi and Zurmi have now remained the colony of banditry in the state.
