Police foils kidnap attempt in Kaduna, rescues 16 victims


 

The Kaduna Police Command on Monday said it rescued 16 kidnap victims from their captors.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer said officers rescued the 16 victims from their kidnappers on January 16, 2022.

He said the Command received information through the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Buruku, that some persons suspected to be victims of kidnap were sighted around the Masallaci area along Birnin Gwari road.

He said on the strength of the report, the DPO immediately mobilized personnel on a rescue mission to the area and on sighting the advancing troops, the hoodlums took to their heels leaving behind sixteen (16) victims whom the Operatives successfully rescued.

Rescued victims, Patience Markus ‘F’, Mercy Musa ‘F’, Gloria Sunday ‘F’, Yunis Sunday ‘M’, Peace Ayuba ‘F’ (, Grace Sunday ‘F’, Sarafina Sunday ‘F’, Mechak Musa ‘M’, residents of Udawa village of Chikun LGA of Kaduna State, he said.

Also, Musa Mudu ‘M’, Joshua Mudu ‘M’, Jummai Musa ‘F’, Alfa Markus ‘M’ are of Gadagi Baggi Village of the same LGA.

He said, other victims; Abdulaziz Shola ‘M’, Tanimu Muhammed ‘M’, Mutari Idris ‘M’ and Sani Musa ‘M’ are from Lagos, Kano, Zamfara and Niger States respectively.

He said the success recorded by the Command is the result of community participation, vigilance and prompt reportage to the security agencies.

The statement urged other communities to emulate the same to secure their respective communities from criminal elements.
