Transfer: Digne chooses Chelsea as Coutinho agrees deal with Liverpool rival

Everton defender, Lucas Digne has chosen Chelsea amid interest from the Blues and other European clubs.

Digne has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton this January transfer window.

According to 90min, the 28-year-old would ‘prefer’ to join Chelsea over any of the other interested parties.

The Frenchman has also drawn the interest of Newcastle United, West Ham United and Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Barcelona midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, has agreed to a deal in principle with Aston Villa to join the Premier League side this January transfer window.

This was made known by respected sports journalist and transfer expert, Nicolo Schira.

Schira disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He tweeted: “Agreement in principle between Philippe #Coutinho and #AstonVilla, which are working to reach an agreement with #Barça on the formula of the deal. #transfers #FCB #AVFC.”

“#AstonVilla have offered #Barça a loan to sign Philippe #Coutinho. Talks ongoing between #Villans and his agent Kia Joorabchian to close the agreement. #Barcelona would like to insert an obligation to buy in the deal.”

Coutinho, a former Liverpool star, has played in the Premier League in the past.
