Transfer: Man United top star agrees to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial has become the first among many top stars said to be willing to leave the club this winter transfer window.

The Frenchman has reportedly agreed to join Sevilla on loan despite that Manchester United are still not happy with the Spanish side’s offer, according to French TV station, Telefoot.

About two other European giants have also declared interest in the Frenchman.

Martial is keen on leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window so as to find playing time elsewhere in order to secure a place in France team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

He has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho last summer.

The forward has started just two league games for United this season with interim boss Rangnick confirming at the end of last month that the France international has asked to leave the club.

Sevilla have since then enquired about taking the 26-year-old on loan but were not prepared to pay a loan fee or take on the striker’s full salary.

But the TV station reports now that Martial has spoken to Sevilla boss, Julen Lopetegui about moving to La Liga and has given his OK to join the club.

However, Manchester United are still stalling over the deal because the Spanish side do not want to pay a loan fee and want the Red Devils to continue to pay a portion of Martial’s weekly wages.

The unwillingness of the former Europa League holders to pay for the player’s loan move has opened the door for other clubs to try and sign him.

Italian giants Juventus and Barcelona have both registered their interest in recent days.
