2023: I’m not afraid of anyone – Akwa Ibom guber aspirant, Owodiong-Idemeko

Obong Ide Owodiong-Idemeko, popularly called IDE, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, has said that he is not afraid of anyone in the pursuit of his dream in 2023.

IDE, who made the declaration on Wednesday while consulting the PDP leadership at the party secretariat, Atan Offot, Uyo, the state capital, said he would not be intimidated by other contestants as he has experience and expertise to offer in governance.

He, however, tasked the PDP leadership on transparency and fairness even as he urged others to be vigilant in ensuring that the party lives up to its promises of transparency during the primaries.

According to him, ”I’m not afraid of anyone to run for governorship. I’m bringing a lot of experience and competence that I think Akwa Ibom people will need in terms of harnessing the resources of the people in an accountable way.

“I’m coming with capacity development, sports administration, security management and a couple of things which I know the people will welcome.

“Everyone is coming with his signature and marks, for me, I will like to see the entrenchment of democratic practice in our state which will allow for local government, judicial and executive autonomy to be full in practice.

“Democracy requires internal vigilance so we all have to be ready to keep our eyes open, to watch and of course get the party leadership to achieve its words of allowing transparency and due process.

“On Array of other contestants; in whatever you do try to be the best, so I am among the best, I am not afraid of anyone.”

Speaking, the state party chairman, Elder Aniekan Akpan commended Idemokon for consulting the party over his aspirations and promised that the party will be transparent, ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.
