UCL: You’re jealous Grealish – Rio Ferdinand blasts Savic for pulling Grealish’s hair

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has blasted Atletico Madrid’s Stefan Savic, saying the Montenegro international was jealous of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

Ferdinand said this while reacting to Savic pulling Grealish’s hair following Manchester City’s Champions League quarter-final second leg 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in Spain.

Recall that Man City’s clash with Atletico Madrid entered into chaos towards the closing stage of the tie after Felipe received his second yellow card following a challenge on Phil Foden.

After Felipe was sent off, both teams got involved in a brawl, with Savic headbutting Raheem Sterling and pulling Grealish’s hair.

Speaking on the development, Ferdinand slammed Savic’s actions.

“What Jack’s said there, what we can’t say here live on air, gets said about nine times out of 10 by a player on the pitch at some point [in] most games,” he said on BT Sport.

“There are verbals that go on and you have a little bit of back and forth with people. It shouldn’t result in that. Savic will look back on that and think it’s not his finest moment.

“It must have been the Gucci deal he got! He must not be happy he got the Gucci deal! The hair length? I don’t know what’s wrong. Jealousy? £100m price tag? Either Jack said something we haven’t seen or he just doesn’t like the look of him.

“If I was Jack Grealish, I would be talking about being on the winning team.”

Meanwhile, Man City qualified for the Champions League last-4 on a 1-0 aggregate win, having won the first leg 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium last week.

Grealish joined Man City from Aston Villa for £100m last year.
