APC: Former council boss floors incumbent in Cross River

The former chairman of Biase LGA in Cross River State, Dr. Emil Inyang has walloped his successor, Mrs Ada Charles at the APC House of Representatives primaries election.

The exercise was held today in Calabar and was keenly contested going by the build-up.

However, the successor, Ada Charles got no votes in the contest while her boss garnered a whooping 99 votes while Mkpanam Obo got 3 votes.

Meanwhile, Dr Alex Egbonna who represents the Abi/Yakurr federal constituency of the state has issued a statement of acceptance after emerging the unopposed candidate in the APC primaries for the Constituency election.

Egbonna who is spending his first tenure in the lower chamber, said, “I feel loved, appreciated that I have been found worthy to be returned unopposed as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency election into the House of Representatives.

“Today, I am reminded of the words of an anonymous philosopher who once said that “the highest reward for a person’s toil is not what they get for it but what they become by it.”

“It has not been a smooth journey. But through God, things have become wonderfully well. This honour is just a reward for those days of sleepless nights, those weeks of sacrifices..”
