Banditry: Take your campaign of peace to grassroots – Zamfara NSCDC urges NYCN

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has charged the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to take its campaign of peace to the grassroots.

The charge was made by the State Commandant of the Command, A A Sparks when he received the newly elected state executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Zamfara State wing.

Sparks said the organization’s visit was timely as the state is in dire need of peace and that no society can strive without peace, insisting that youths are formidable instruments of peace as they could make or mare the security of any society.

The Commandant who emphasised that the crusade of peace be taken to all the nooks and crannies of the state, welcomed the youth body and charged them to visit schools, mosques, churches and other areas of large gatherings of youth to sensitize them on the absolute need for peace and development in Zamfara State.

He encouraged the NYCN executives to feel free and relate with the corps to stamp out criminal elements in the society and assured the group of the readiness of the Corps to collaborate and assist at any time.

Earlier, the leader of the group, Barshar Garba extolled the resilient zeal of the Corps in the fight against insecurity in the state and the youth-friendly policies of the organization.

Garba said NSCDC is a relevant stakeholder in the building of youth-friendly programs, peace and security of life and properties and as such, it behoves the NYCN to visit the agency to seek and obtain the blessings of the Corps before the executives begin any official function in the state.

He thanked the Commandant and the NSCDC management staff for the audience granted the youth body.
